Please note that lost property is not currently being managed. If you would like to help please speak to Reception.
Contacts
Lost property is run by Dunja and Amelie. Dunja can be contacted on patanddunja@btinternet.com. Amelie works as a TA in 1DE.
Opening times
Lost property is open every Friday from 3.10 pm to 4 pm. The doors will close at 3.55 pm so please do not arrive then and expect to be able to spend time looking through items.
Amelie also tries to open some Monday and Tuesday lunch times but her job as TA comes first: tell your kids that they can check but don't expect it to be open.
Label your stuff!
If you label your property then Dunja and Amelie can be far more helpful. And if you buy your labels from Stikins (school code 35674) the PTA receives a donation.
Lost property information
Named items
A list of named items will be circulated to parents via Classlist each month. Dunja and Amelie will try to take named items to the Primary children but this is not always possible: please do not assume that named items will be delivered back. Named items belonging to Secondary children will not be returned: these must be collected.
Unnamed items
All unnamed items will be photographed each month and details circulated on Classlist.
Please do not ask Dunja or Amelie to find "an unnamed blue hoodie" - they have hundreds of those. For unnamed items you must come to lost property yourself, even if the missing item appears in the photographs.
Location and layout
Lost property is located behind the After School Club (see the school map) - follow the yellow line from the parents' entrance. Just after you have passed the After School Club, a little court yard opens to your left. Facing the court yard, the door in the left-hand back corner leads to Lost Property (we used to have a sign but it was stolen).
When you enter Lost Property, the first room is generally used for things that have been photographed that month (unnamed items).
The second room contains several racks. Standing in front of the racks:
All newly found things tend to be added to the left hand side of each rack, so for recently lost items start from the left.
Parent access
Parents can check the lost property room at any time by getting a key from reception. Unaccompanied children are not allowed to access the room.
There is a list of named items on the table. If you collect a named item, please cross your name off the list. If you collect an unnamed item you do not need to notify anyone.
Please ensure that you lock up after yourself.
What happens to unclaimed items
Unclaimed items will be kept for a couple of months, After that they will be washed and sold at the school fetes. Anything that doesn't sell goes to charity.
