Whether you’re new to basketball or already play regularly, everyone is welcome. Form a team of up to four players and enjoy a fast-paced afternoon of 3x3 basketball.
An open practice session will run from 11:00am to 12:30pm in the Gym, for anyone who would like to sharpen their skills, or warm up before the tournament.
Tournament games begin at 2:00pm and are expected to finish by 4:00pm. If it is sunny, you'll find us by the Sunken Garden, if it rains, we'll be in the Gym.
Entry payable by a parent on classlist: £8 per team, or £2 for individual players. If you don’t have a team, we’ll help form one for you on the day.
Registration closes at midnight on 21 June.
The tournament is open to all Secondary pupils at Europa School UK.
Each team consists of three players on the court. A fourth player may be registered as a substitute.
Substitutions may only be made during a dead-ball situation and after a player exchange with the referee.
Games are played on a half court with one basket, using the standard three-point arc.
The game ends when a team scores 21 points or when the 10-minute game clock expires, whichever occurs first.
If the score is tied at the end of regulation, overtime is played. The first team to score 2 points wins the game.
The shot clock is 12 seconds.
A successful field goal scored inside the arc counts as 1 point.
A successful field goal scored behind the arc counts as 2 points.
Each successful free throw counts as 1 point.
Every game and every dead-ball restart begins with a check ball at the top of the court.
After a successful basket, the non-scoring team resumes play immediately from underneath the basket. The ball must be cleared beyond the arc before a shot may be attempted.
Following a defensive rebound or a steal, the team gaining possession must clear the ball beyond the arc before attempting to score.
If the offensive team retains possession after a block, deflection, or air ball, no clearance is required.
Games are officiated by referees and governed by standard basketball rules regarding fouls, violations, and unsportsmanlike conduct.
